If you’re talking about ‘old people’, ie those moving sideways to a web app from desktop software (Quark, InDesign, etc), then
File > Save
is indeed their motto.
But as a Computer Science teacher in a modern comprehensive school, I can assure you that the young people of today (migrating upwards from Google Suite, Pixlr, etc) never think of ‘saving’ work. It’s not a thing.
To kids who’ve grown up on web apps and iPads, ‘saving’ has never been a thing. They don’t even recognise the ‘Save’ icon - probably because it represents an object they’ve never ever seen in real life.
Autosave is assumed. Cloud-based apps don’t ask you to save, it’s done for you, like sharing and versioning and being able to revert to any previous state from the history. Anything else is ‘just weird’.
