Does Gravit support taking handwritten notes? I’ve tried the online version and it seems like it works in principle except that there is a split-second of lag after finishing a curve which means the program misses short strokes (e.g. dot on i) and starts long strokes late.
Hi @SimonEtter, thanks for reaching out. Do you mean some kind of pen pressure? If so, Gravit doesn’t support it yet, although that is on our Roadmap.
No, treating the pen as binary is good enough for me. I think Gravit in principle provides everything that is needed, it’s mostly a question of optimising for the particular workflow. For example, Gravit seems to be a bit too slow to capture all the strokes as mentioned above. And further it would be nice if Gravit allowed to distinguish between touch screen and stylus so I could rest my hand on the screen while writing.
Please note that we don’t have proper support for touch devices yet, but we definitely want to approach that in the near future.
When you are saying that there is a lag, are you talking about the Pen or Freehand tool?
Great to hear that touch devices are on the list!
I am talking about the freehand tool. For illustration, this is me trying to write “Hello World”:
Well - I believe it´s your computer which probably isn´t capable. This is real time (ugly) handwriting/drawing on a Wacom with the pen tool:
My computer handles me writing in Xournal just well. I don’t think the hardware is at fault here.
Then I have no idea.
Are you creating the handwritten notes with your mouse or another input device?
I use my wacom touchscreen with stylus.
That might be the reason, as we can’t guarantee proper support for drawing tablets at the moment. Something, we want to improve in the future, though.
That would be great! You’d stand a good chance of getting at least one more customer
Hello all! Is there any update regarding WACOM pen tablet support? I hope your roadmap has reached it in the meanwhile?
Unfortunately, we still need more time. Please, bear with us.
