Gravit Designer should have more names for fonts. For example, this is how a font looks in Gravit:
This is what they look like in Apple Font Book:
Gravit Designer should use those names.
Thanks for reporting. I’ve filed this for fixing.
Are there other fonts where you encountered that the wrong weight names are used?
Yeah. Also, with this font, I could only use one font weight, and clicking on the other “Regulars” in the menu would jump back to the same weight.
We hope to fix this problem for 3.2.6.
We just released Gravit Designer 3.2.6 and hope that this issue is gone now.
This works for me with OTF fonts but looks like not with TTF fonts (which most of mine are unfortunately)For TTF fonts, one weight only is still shown. v3.263 (running on High Sierra on a MacBook pro).
Could you please send such a font family to email@example.com, mentioning this forum thread for reference? We’d like to investigate and check if we can also show the different weights for TTF files.
I have the same problem with the latest release 2019-2.7 on mac. I have a lot of fonts that only shows the “regular” option even if i have full palette.
I think i have it fixed. Fonts in issue are ttc (True Type Collection) so i have used a tool online to convert the ttc into multiple ttf -> install the ttf fonts and delete the ttc. No I can see all weight’s for that font
