for a long time, the pdf file sizes exported from gravit has been significantly larger than PDFs from illustrator or Microsoft word.
Recently I figured out that it is related how the font is embedded: both illustrator and word embeds only the “subset” of the font, meaning only the characters that is been used in the document. Since I have projects that uses Chinese fonts, this means instead of embedding the font with thousands of characters, it only embeds a tiny portion of it, significantly reduces the file size.
I know the best way is to outline all the text to retain the design, but there are instances where the client will like to have the text selectable with the pdf, and slight appearance change of the fonts isn’t that critical
On minor related note, using pdf preflight, the font name is incorrect? it should read "MicrosoftYaHei"
